BROWN Napa Valley is a collection of wine brands anchored by flagship Brown Estate. The Brown portfolio includes the iconic Chaos Theory red blend and a sister label, House of Brown.

The Brown family has been in Napa since 1980, growing grapes for 40 years, making wine under their heritage Brown Estate label for 30 years, and operating their wine club for nearly 20 years.

By way of Southern California, the family tree has roots in Jamaica (Dad) and Panama (Mom). Sibling-owners Deneen, Coral & David grew up in Jamaica and Los Angeles. During mandatory turns pitching in at their parents’ medical clinic in South Central LA, the kids adopted an all for one, one for all sense of responsibility for each other, their work, and the community they were serving.
Raised in what now would be known as a “Blue-Zone” household, they also swore allegiance to what would become a foundational tenet at Brown: Do no harm. This principle informs their practices in the realms of farming, winemaking, and hospitality.

After opening their destination Brown Downtown Napa tasting room in 2017, the siblings established their House of Brown sister label to expand access to their Brown family of wines — all regeneratively farmed, certified sustainable, and vegan-friendly.

CORAL BROWN
Co-founder & VP Winemaking

Where there is wine, there are stories to be told, by consumers who in imbibing find inspiration to uncork their own memories and reflections, and also by the wine itself of its years-long journey from vine to glass.
For 30 years Coral and her brother David have been producing terroir-driven wines from their family estate in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley. Year in and year out, Brown Estate wines tell a unique story of place and the impact of the given growing season, showcasing Mother Nature’s singular imprint from vintage to vintage.
Throughout these three decades Coral has penned tasting notes and curated small bite pairings for all Brown Estate wines, exercises that have afforded her a breadth and depth of understanding of both the hallmarks and variations the vineyards manifest.
Concurrent with developing Coral's palate at home, she has conducted informal inquiries into the history, philosophy, and technical aspects of winemaking while taking every opportunity to sample wines from other regions, both domestic and foreign. This self-guided education, along with years of supporting her brother in the cellar and
vineyards, ultimately inspired Coral to pursue a Winemaking Certificate at UC Davis — a work-in-progress she is squeezing in alongside her day-to-day responsibilities at Brown Estate and House of Brown.
